Welcome to Shark Week 2025
From July 20-26, 2025, the world celebrates Shark Week, spotlighting the ocean’s most awe-inspiring predators: sharks. At SHRKco, we’re diving in to honor these ancient marvels and amplify our mission to Help Ancient Sharks Save Living Sharks. Join us to discover why sharks are vital, how we’re protecting them, and how you can make a difference this Shark Week!
Why Shark Week Matters
Shark Week is more than heart-pounding documentaries and stunning underwater footage—it’s a global stage to champion sharks’ essential role in marine ecosystems. As apex predators, sharks regulate prey populations, sustain coral reefs, and bolster biodiversity. Yet, with some species facing up to a 95% population decline due to overfishing, bycatch, and the shark fin trade, their future hangs in the balance. Shark Week 2025 is our moment to spark action and safeguard these irreplaceable creatures.
SHRKco’s Mission: From Ancient Fossils to Modern Conservation
At SHRKco, we bridge the past and present to secure a future for sharks. Our journey began when our founder survived an alligator bite while diving for fossil shark teeth in Florida’s ancient ocean beds. Those prehistoric relics inspired SHRKco’s mission: crafting ethically sourced, handmade shark tooth jewelry and eco-conscious apparel that fund vital conservation efforts.
We proudly donate to trusted 501(c)(3) nonprofits like Fins Attached and Saving the Blue. These organizations drive marine research, track shark populations, and advocate for policies like “fins naturally attached” laws to end shark finning. Every SHRKco purchase fuels initiatives that protect shark habitats, monitor their migrations, and promote sustainable fishing worldwide.
How SHRKco is Saving Sharks
Our conservation partners are leading the charge, and your SHRKco purchases make their work possible. Here’s how we’re making an impact:
-
Fins Attached: Uses satellite tags to track shark migrations, providing data to protect critical habitats and inform conservation strategies. Policy change is their focus! Fins Attached also regularly works with endangered sea turtles and nest protection.
-
Saving the Blue: Run by shark scientists, they word directly with people educating about which endangered sharks should be reported if seen, especially in less developed countries. These species many times include Great Hammerheads, Silky Sharks, Sawfish and more. With being seen on many Shark Week episodes by founders and Shark Week hosts Tristian and Annie Guttridge, this is a global reaching organization known for its progress and professionalism.
-
Community Engagement: Both partners educate coastal communities, fostering shark-friendly practices and building local support for conservation.
Since our founding, SHRKco customers have helped us donate an estimated thousands of dollars to these efforts, protecting sharks from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Together, we’re forging a legacy of ocean stewardship.
