Look at those beautiful, intricate, natural lightning patterns! These add to the beauty of this Meg and can be sought after by collectors. The lightning is from ancient tree roots which secreted tiny amounts of acid on the fossil itself that can change colors to these unique patterns. This area we now scuba dive was actually land twice since the Megalodons were swimming around. The coast of Florida even went 300 more miles out into the Gulf of Mexico just during the last Ice Age!
Found scuba diving in Venice, Florida by Captain Michael Nastasio of Black Gold Fossil Charters. Venice is actually the shark fossil capital of the world! GOLDEN BEACH: The featured here are called "Golden Beach" which is an area of Venice that can produce colorations different from the more common black. This shark would have been 30+ feet long because 1 inch of shark tooth is generally equal to 10 feet of shark.
