Found on land in Venice, Florida by Captain Michael Nastasio of Black Gold Fossil Charters. Most of Florida was under water during the time that Megalodons lived (2-23 million years ago), so if you dig deep enough here, Megalodon and other marine fossils can be found! The land megs like this one usually have incredible preservation as you can see here. This shark would have been 25+ feet long because 1 inch of shark fossil is generally equal to 10 feet of shark.
Check out the beautiful light tan colors!
