This is a big Megalodon! The captain called it a "Tank of a Lower" because it's also 4 inches wide and was from the lower jaw as we can tell by the slightly slender enamel compared to upper jaw.
Found scuba in Venice, Florida by Captain Michael Nastasio of Black Gold Fossil Charters. This adult shark would have been 47+ feet long because 1 inch of length is generally equal to 10 feet of shark. We love scuba diving for megs here and we're lucky that Captain Nastasio shares his amazing discoveries here with us. His collection is very massive because he dives and finds shark fossils like this any day the weather is good enough.
